11th Annual Arts Education Institute

The 11th annual Arts Education Institute offers professional development in arts and learning for all South Dakota teachers and administrators Pre-K through 12th grade.

The Arts Education Institute (AEI) offers an educational and fun-filled week of learning to integrate the arts into classrooms and curriculum development. This year hands-on art and music workshops offer many opportunities for all Pre-K through 12th grade educators July 12-16 in Lead, South Dakota.

AEI is offered for one or two graduate, under-graduate or recertification credits. Scholarships are available for all South Dakota teachers. Information for both institutes is available atwww.sdarts.org or by calling 605-584-1222. Anyone interested can print the information available on the website and mail the registration form with a check or school voucher. Credit card payments can also be made online. Early registration is recommended. Class sizes are limited.

Art workshops offered this year are Breakdown Printing with Lynn Verschoor and Black Light Art with Bob H. Miller for one credit each.  Educators may take one or both workshops.Oil Painting along the Mickelson Trail with Gary Steinleyand Rhythms and Cultures: Building Bridges for Successwith Gloria Brandt Harrison are two credit workshops and cannot be combined with any other workshops.

AEI is sponsored by the South Dakota Arts Council, South Dakotans for the Arts and SD Alliance for Arts Education.

South Dakotans for the Arts and the SD Alliance for Arts Education are supported with funds from the State of South Dakota, The National Endowment for the Arts, and private contributions from organizations, individuals and businesses. The Alliance for Arts Education is a member of the Kennedy Center Alliance for Arts Education Network.
